Refund & Return Policy – Mithila Roots

Welcome to Mithila Roots. We are committed to providing our customers with high-quality makhana and dry fruits. Please read our refund/return policy carefully before placing an order.

1. Return Eligibility

Since our products (makhana, dry fruits) are perishable/consumable food items, we do not accept general returns due to hygiene and safety reasons. Returns/replacements are only possible in the following cases:

  • Product arrived damaged or with leaked/tampered packaging
  • Product is expired or very close to its expiry date
  • Wrong item delivered (ordered something, received something else)
  • Short quantity delivered
  • Quality issue with the product (spoiled, infested, etc.)

2. Time Limit

For the issues listed above, you must contact us within 3 days of delivery, along with:

  • Order ID
  • Unboxing video or photo (as proof)
  • A short description of the issue

Claims made after this window cannot be accepted.

3. Non-Returnable Cases

Returns/refunds will not be available if:

  • The packaging has been opened and the product has been consumed/used (except in defective cases)
  • The customer provided an incorrect delivery address
  • The reason is taste or personal preference (not valid, since this is a consumable item)
  • The product was delivered in proper condition

4. Refund Process

  1. Refund Process

After verification (checking photo/video proof), we will offer one of
the following:

  • Replacement (resend the same product) — recommended, no deduction
  • Refund to the original payment method within 5–7 business days.
    A return handling fee of ₹60 will be deducted from the refund amount
    to cover return shipping and processing costs.
  • Store credit/coupon for a future order (full amount, no deduction)

6. Cancellation Policy

  • Orders can be cancelled before they are shipped, with a full refund
  • Once an order is dispatched, it cannot be cancelled

7. Shipping Charges

  • If a refund is chosen for an approved return, a flat ₹60 return
    handling fee will be deducted from the refund amount, regardless
    of the reason for return.
  • Opting for a replacement or store credit instead of a refund avoids
    this deduction.
